Book award finalist

Shanghaied receives award #6: Five Star Finalist from Readers’ Choice. Not a gold, silver or bronze but a finalist. Thank you. At the same time, I paid for a review from a professional…was humbled and learned a lot from it. Thank you too.

There is a chasm between “award winner” and “best seller.” What does it take to bridge that chasm?

Listening to my publisher’s first marketing webinar, “the list” is long: build my Linkedin network; find audiences/advocates on BookTok; join the Author’s Guild; be liberal sending out free copies of Shanghaied; consult more with my publicist; look for book clubs (anyone know Oprah?); find podcasts and radio shows looking for content; set up some book touring; find new markets (cruise ships?)…remain enthusiastic.
